CARS Goals & Objetives

The organization’s goals are to decrease or eliminate the illicit use of opiates, to increase treatment retention/effectiveness, and ensure patient satisfaction; therefore the following indicators are used to monitor each program:

  • To monitor reduction/elimination of the illicit use of opiates
  • Staff will administer monthly drug screens to newly admitted patients and record results.
  • An approved laboratory will analyze specimens and the results will be stored in Methware (program management software) for outcomes analysis.
  • Drug screens resulting in positive/negative for illicit opiate use in the first 90 days of treatment will be examined.
  • An annual report inclusive of data collected over the course of the year will be produced to support the elimination of the illicit use of opiates amongst patients admitted into medication assisted therapy at each clinical site.
  • To determine treatment retention / effectiveness of newly admitted patients;
  • Staff will collect data to record admission and discharge dates throughout the course of treatment. A quarterly report inclusive of data collected at each site will be produced to support length of stay whereby retention will be representative of at least 90 days in treatment. Data outcomes will be included in the organization’s annual report as well where it will be compared to data from previous years to show improvement/decrease in retention rates. Retention rates are a key indicator of successful treatment.
  • To help establish patient satisfaction with counseling services,
  • Patients enrolled in the program will be asked to participate in an annual survey. Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Data will be analyzed and a report will be created to determine outcome.
